Which heat source should I choose for my heating system?/Reneco

At the stage of new construction of a residential building or reconstruction of an existing one, we quite often have a question - which source of heat supply to choose for the heating system: a boiler or a heat pump? In order to answer this question, it is necessary to determine which of the existing types of fuel will be the most economically profitable and which will be ruinous for the family budget.

Energy cost

It is not difficult to calculate the cost of energy, but in order not to force you to bother with this problem, the Reneco company has already done this for you. General data on the cost of one kilowatt of heat for the main types of fuel are given in the table below.

Output

Based on the cost of one kilowatt of heat, we can make an unambiguous conclusion - a heat pump is currently the most profitable source of heat supply at the current cost of main types of fuel. As an example, we present to your attention approximate combustion options based on heat pumps from three manufacturers:
Heat pump - the most profitable source of heat supply

Option No. 1:

In this option, we suggest installing a heat pump from a trusted manufacturer Bosch with 8 kW thermal power as the main source of heating. The heat pump is also designed to cover the load on the heating system and prepare hot water in an indirect heating boiler.
  • Heated area: up to 100 m2
  • Thermal power: 8 kW
  • Maximum water temperature 55 C
  • Thermal power: 8 kW
  • Electric heating element: 6 kW
  • Electric power: 2.8 kW
  • COP: 4.8

Option No. 2:

As the main source of heating, a CELESTE heat pump with a thermal power of 11 kW (Manufactured in China) is offered for installation. The heat pump is designed to cover the load on the heating system and prepare hot water in an indirect heating boiler. teplovoi-nasos-Celeste-Optima-KP90
  • Heated area: up to 120 m2
  • Thermal power: 15.1 kW
  • Maximum water temperature 55 C
  • Thermal power: 21.9 kW
  • Electric heating element: 3 kW
  • Electric power: 2.9 kW
  • COP: 3.8

Option No. 3:

A new model of Japanese-Czech heat pump FUJI (outdoor unit - Japan, indoor unit - Czech Republic) with a power of 10 kW. And in this case, the heat pump is designed to cover the load on the heating system and prepare hot water in an indirect heating boiler.
  • Heated area: up to 140 m2
  • Thermal power: 10 kW
  • Maximum water temperature 55 C
  • Electric heating element: 3 kW
  • Electric power: 3 kW
  • COP: 3.73

Option No. 4:

A highly efficient heat pump with a built-in hydraulic module from the Chinese manufacturer Lessar with a power of 12.1 kW is designed to provide a heating system and will do an excellent job of preparing hot water in an indirect heating boiler.
  • Heated area: up to 160 m2
  • Thermal power: 12.1 kW
  • Maximum water temperature 55 C
  • Electric heating element: 4.5 kW
  • Electric power: 3.5 kW
  • COP: 4.29
