Heat pump for heating and hot water

The use of a heat pump in a heating system is an ideal solution for reducing the operating costs of heating and preparing hot water. Heat pumps work efficiently with low-temperature heating systems with a heat carrier temperature of 35-50˚C. Such heating systems include underfloor heating, heating systems based on fan coils and/or radiators with a large heat transfer area. Heating devices are selected to compensate for the low temperature of the heat carrier with the area of the heating devices. Advantages of heat pumps for domestic hot water and heating A heat pump for heating and domestic hot water uses free ambient heat, converts it into thermal energy to heat the heating medium of the heating system and is more efficient than such classical heat generators as electric or gas boilers. The heat pump does not require fuel, there is no open flame and no harmful gases are emitted - accordingly, such devices are explosion and fire safe. It is also worth noting the versatility of the heat pump, because in one set of equipment the customer receives a heating, cooling and water heating system. Such devices are an order of magnitude more reliable than classic heat generators and, if properly selected, can operate for 25-30 years.

How a heat pump works:

  • Refrigerant is heated in the evaporator and turns into a gaseous state
  • The gas enters the compressor, after which it is compressed and heated
  • The heated gas enters the condenser, which transfers heat to the heating system.
  • After that, it cools down and takes on a liquid state again
  • The liquid refrigerant passes through the throttle (expansion valve), where its pressure is compressed to its original state
  • The refrigerant returns to the evaporator. The circuit closes and the process repeats

Main characteristics of a heat pump for hot water and heating:

  • Type of heat pump. The most universal solution is the air-to-water and air-to-air heat pump. The most durable is the "ground-water"
  • COP. The ratio between the consumed and produced energy characterizes the efficiency of the heat pump
  • Built-in automation required to control the heating system
  • Noise characteristics of the equipment
  • Availability of software for remote access
