How does it work?

The principle of operation of a solar station operating for its own needs is almost no different from a solar power plant designed to sell electricity. Still, photovoltaic modules convert light energy into direct electric current, and a network inverter converts direct current into alternating current and “feeds” the network. With only one exception - an object operating under the Green Tariff creates a flow of energy into the external network, but in this case this flow is blocked. The point is the principle of selling generated energy under the Green Tariff. It is the flow into the external network that is paid for, which occurs after the loads on the power line, if any, are fully supplied with energy. And this energy is taken into account by a special bidirectional counter. In this case, at facilities without a Green Tariff, it is not yet possible by law to install a bidirectional meter and energy flows threaten the owner with a fine, to avoid which it is necessary to monitor their absence. The most economically feasible way to get out of this situation is to dynamically regulate the power of a solar installation, implementing the zero-feed-in, zero export function, that is, zero return to the network. The idea is to install a special device that constantly monitors the load and flows in the network and dynamically regulates the power of the installation, such as the Smart Meter from Fronius and working in conjunction with inverters from this manufacturer. As a result, no more energy is generated than is needed to power the loads and there is no “flow” into the external network.
